Headshots
If it’s been a while, you’re just getting started, or you’ve recently changed your look, Headshots are the place to start. Your headshot is the first thing a casting director or agent sees, so it’s crucial that it’s working for you, not against you.
Monologue Reels
If your Spotlight is looking sharp but you’re missing that standout performance clip, a Monologue Reel could be the right fit. It’s also a great option if you want to showcase a specific accent, such as American or RP, or capture a piece of material that shows you at your very best.
Duologue Reels
Duologue material is one of the most valuable things an actor can have on their Spotlight. Again and again, agents and casting directors tell us they want to see more actors with strong duologue scenes. A Note from Our Founder
Charlie Frances
Five years ago, Akta didn’t exist.
There was no studio, no team, no agency, no workshops, and certainly no plan to build a company that would go on to support more than 12,000 actors.
At the time, simply offering Pay What You Can headshots from a kitchen table in Westbourne Park. I put the idea out there, a few people booked in, then a few more, and before I knew it there was a waiting list.
What started as a small project quickly became something much bigger. Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come.
Today, Akta supports thousands of actors every year. We’ve launched Akta Agency, introduced AktaClass, moved into our Islington studios, and built a team of talented people who care deeply about helping actors move their careers forward.
What makes me happiest, though, isn’t the growth itself. It’s the people.
Over the last five years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting actors at every stage of their journey. Some were preparing to apply for drama school. Some were looking for their first agent. Others were returning to the industry after years away. Every one of those stories has played a part in shaping what Akta has become.
I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together, and even more grateful to everyone who has trusted us to be a small part of their journey.

Akta exists because of the community around it, and reaching this five-year milestone feels like something worth celebrating together.
