Introducing Kit Young
Kit trained at RADA and has since built up an extraordinary body of work across stage, film, and television.
You might know him best as Jesper Fahey in Netflix's Shadow and Bone, one of the platform's most watched shows ever. His film credits include The School for Good and Evil alongside Charlize Theron and Kerry Washington, The Beautiful Game with Bill Nighy, and Out of the Darkness, which won him Best Actor at the 2024 BAFTA Scotland Awards. Most recently, he joined the cast of Alien Earth for FX.
On stage, he has performed at Shakespeare's Globe and the Donmar Warehouse, worked with director Nicholas Hytner at The Bridge, and earned an Ian Charleson Award nomination for A Midsummer Night's Dream.

AktaClass On Demand is Akta's online learning platform, giving actors everywhere access to masterclass content from working professionals at the top of the industry. Each session goes beyond technique, offering honest, firsthand insight into what a career in acting actually looks like from the inside.

What is an AktaClasss Online Masterclass?
Each masterclass is a filmed, in-depth conversation with a working actor or industry professional, available to watch whenever suits you. Think less formal lecture, more honest conversation: the kind of insight you'd get if you could sit down with someone whose career you admire and just ask them anything. Every session is roughly 45 minutes, and once you're subscribed you can return to it as many times as you like.
Kit's masterclass follows a five-part structure built around his own career, from the very beginning to where he is now. He starts with drama school, covering what it actually takes to get in and how to make the most of a training environment once you're there. From there he moves into auditioning and the industry, drawing on his first years out of drama school and what that period really looks like. Then comes being the new kid on the block, where Kit talks candidly about landing those first roles and finding your footing. The final two chapters are where it gets really honest: the big break, and how your life changes once you've made it. Five stages, one career, told straight.
How do I watch?
It's pretty simple. Sign up for £14 a month and you'll get access to a members-only page where all the content lives. Watch what you want, when you want, on whatever device you're on.
